Wells Theatre Festival is delighted to offer local schools an exciting, fully funded opportunity to take part in a vibrant creative programme led by Somerset-based aKa Dance Theatre Company.

Whether through hands-on workshops or a magical in-school performance, this is a chance for pupils to experience the joy of dance theatre — completely free of charge.

Shed-ache (from September)

Bring creativity to life in your classroom with dynamic, high-energy workshops led by professional dance artists.

These sessions are:

• Active, engaging and fun

• Designed for all ages and abilities

• Fully adaptable to suit your group

Pupils will explore:

• Movement and physical storytelling

• Creating and performing their own ideas

• Collaboration and teamwork

• Expressing stories inspired by their own lives and local culture

At the heart of every session is a focus on building confidence, unlocking imagination, and celebrating creativity.

Free School Hall Performance

Shed-ache (June & July)

A joyful, hilarious and slightly chaotic dance theatre show — performed right in your school.

Shed-ache has been a huge hit with Wells Theatre Festival audiences, delighting children and grown-ups alike.

• Two performers and a shed on wheels

• A world where imagination takes over

• Downpours, lava floors… and socks falling from the sky

This playful performance takes audiences on a journey somewhere between reality and make-believe, exploring:

• Friendship and connection

• The power of imagination

• Embracing every experience — whatever the weather
