47…a ghost story
Over the Wall Productions - First Public Performance of new play
Pat and Jimmy Lewis are underground. One hundred feet of stone above them. The constant drip of water, bats clinging to the walls. They seem to be on a bizarre guided tour, led by the enigmatic Felix. But why? Pat hates enclosed places, Jimmy hates being out of control. They both have a new house to see.
Who are the 47 who invited them here? What is the Freemasons part in all this? And how did they end up here?
Pat blames his driving. Jimmy blames her directions.
They fight. Their hearts as cold as the stone around them. But their bickering only serves to hide their fear as a small boy takes hold of Pat's hand and screams silently.
Over the Wall Productions was established in 2018 as the production arm for work created and generated by playwright and performer, Richard Crowe, starting with his one-man-show, Over the Wall Picking Apples, which has now toured extensively in Somerset and the South West of England.
In March 2021, Over the Wall became Over the Wall Productions CIC. Joined by two additional directors, Pauline Burr and Nicola Epps, we are aiming to grow the skills-base of the organisation, its fundraising activities and, slowly but surely, its capacity.
Richard Crowe has worked in the arts since 1977 as a writer, performer and creative producer. He played a lead role in promoting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in the South West, and has had plays performed across the globe. Pauline Burr and Nicola Epps both have over twenty years experience in the field of arts development, and have strong roots in community development and education and the role the arts can play in delivering on those agendas.
The performance at the Wells Theatre Festival is the first time this play will be seen by an audience.
